Sneak peek at next year’s gear: Black Diamond Route Skis
For the 2017/18 ski season Black Diamond is launching the new Route Series Skis. They’ll come in a 105, 95 and 88mm widths underfoot and feature a poplar wood core with a fibreglass sandwich construction. The Route Series fit between this years Helio Series and the new Boundary Pro Series Skis.
The Helio Series Skis are super light thanks to their carbon construction but this makes them also more expensive than the Route Series Skis. If you’re an avid backcountry skier then the Helios are the ones to look for but if you want to save a few bucks and don’t mind a little extra weight then the Route Skis are likely going to be more your thang!
The Boundary Pro Series Skis features a 115 and 107mm version and are targeted at the freeride skier since they are the stiffest ski Black Diamond offers. The Boundary Pro Series skis are still still light enough for touring and are also available fall 2017.
