5.10 Access Approach Shoes - VIDEO
5.10 basically invented the approach shoe category back in the late 80’s and now they're perfecting it with their NEW Access approach shoe. The Access is a light weight, durable shoe that offers comfort and of course support. The Access comes in a perforated nubuck leather version and also a more breathable mesh version for those warmer summer days.
Both the Nubuck and mesh versions use 5.10’s Stealth S1 outsole which allows for technical edging and smearing should you require it. S1 rubber is pretty tacky so the Access works as well for riding as it does for hiking. A thick and light EVA midsole is where all the cushioning comes from on the Access. The midsoles high rubber content provides good shock absorptions as well as durability. A rubberized exoskeleton is designed to hold you fit firm and provide great support no matter what the terrain.
I got to test the 5.10 Access Mesh shoes at Deer Valley last month during Outdoor PressCamp and was impressed how well the rubberized exoskeleton works. It provided incredible support and foot hold, it allowed the shoe's upper to basically cradle my foot. On or off the dirt, the 5.10 Access was comfortable, super light and just made my feet feel supported and happy.
