TOURING LOCATIONS

There are hundreds of great backcountry skiing locations around BC. Because this website is in its chrysalis stage (think of something about to bust out and become a butterfly), we’ve focused on what we know—the West Kootenay. We are depending on input from you to help us build out the other backcountry skiing locations (like the Coast Mts. and the Rockies). If you have been on a great backcountry ski tour and you want to share your story and images, you are invited to submit your info here.

Something else you should know…we’ve included pretty basic descriptions of the various West Kootenay tours here. For a more complete description of the tours, and more detailed suggestions and directions, you can buy the guidebook here. Developing the Guidebook was a hundreds-of-hours labour of love for us. Buy a book and save us from insolvency! The guidebook is in a super-handy format that you can easily toss into your pack. If we didn’t develop the guide, we’d buy it for sure. It’s an excellent resource and well worth the price of a six pack.

We want to “beef up” the site for next season and are on the lookout for people who can provide route descriptions that aren’t featured here.
